File browser Nautilus

Asked by peter

Hello

I've a problem. Somewhere in the Nautilus window I clicked. The effect was that I lost the left part of the Nautilus window. This part contains the root, the File system and other entries.

Question: How can I get this lost part again?

Hi peter,

Hi Pif

View / Side Pane is active. But without success - it doesn't help. I uninstalled Nautilus and installed it again, but also this didn't help

Hi peter,

It is not right up against the side of the window, as it would be nearly invisible ??

Hi Pif

I'm not sure if I got your answer. English is not my mother tongue.

If I press F9, the directories will shift a little bit to the left and back to right. That's it.

Yes,

When your mouse is over the border to the centre left, your cursor changes shape. It becomes an arrow. At this point, click left and move to the right edge.

Or

You can also run gconf-editor and changed the width of the side panel.

To do press ALT+F2 and type gconf-editor then click Run:

ALT+F2 -> gconf-editor -> Run

Then, go in /apps/nautilus/preferences/sidebar_width and put the value 200
