hi there, i managed to update my ubuntu version on our campus lan... now i want to download codecs for mp3 playback on totem, my problem is that i cant seem to find where i enter my proxy authentication for the application. i have gone to System > Preferences >network proxy and entered my details there, but the when i try downloading this is the error i get

Hi,

Run Synaptic and configure your proxy in Settings / Preferences / Network.

ONLY If it is a proxy Microsoft, you can use the proxy python ntlmaps. There is a package in Ubuntu and it automatically configures at the installation (basic configuration). After installation, you can improve your configuration in /etc/ntlmaps/server.cfg. More info http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=20310
