Hello again Vee.

Lets do a quick update from your last question to get a clear picture of what your doing.

1.) In your last question you where going to use the Ubuntu desktop cd - you had this installed and working as I recall (you where having trouble installing samba - why have you changed to the server version ?

2.) Have you run a "disk check" from the initial boot up screen on the cd ?

3.) a hard reset is a pretty serious fault, normally cause by a hardware failure (generlising I admit) did this machine have any problems with the desktop version you where running or the windows install you had ?

4.) Is the machine over clocked in any way ?

5.) As I recall you where trying to install the x86_64 version of the desktop, is this still the case with the server version.

Can you help with this problem?
