second life for ubuntu 8.04

is there a second life app. that is installable on ubuntu i tried to install the linux(i368) and i couldnt get it to run/install

As far I as can remember the download from secondlife.com is a static binary.
So if that's you downloaded you should only need to extract it and launch a binary file.

There is however a .deb package on www.getdeb.net (unofficial)
