vnc scaleability

When I remotely login to a machine with 1024x768, there is no way for me to make the VNC window scalable to view it on my 800x600 monitor. (think controlling a 1024x768 from an eeepc, see the issue?) The result is a window which is too large to display, and lots of scrolling. Can this be implemented? I was also told that compiz does shrinkage, any other utils that are limited to window shrinkage. Is there an additional utility which allows you to scale any window you wish, which can male it seem like you have a greater resolution than you actually do?

Which vnc clients are you using?

Krdc for instance allows you to scale to the size of the window such that you always see the whole screen.

krdc is perfect and does this very very well. It also has a feature which I have never seen: A VNC computer browser that will probe the subnet for any computers with rdp/vnc. I had some problem with authentication on some servers, but it works great for the most part, thank you very much for this suggestion Ralph.
