no sound from speakers

It seems as though my music is playing, but no sound is coming out of the speakers. Sound prferences are all set to auto-detect. Sound was working fine until I ran a script to enable DVD playback. Now no sound.?

What version Ubuntu are you running? What program are you using to play your music?

Try going to Volume Control to see if the speakers are not muted. I am a newbie and thats all I can offer.=(
