Ubuntu

cant install

after i burned the image, i booted it form my dell latitude d500, it all works well the menu come up and i choose install or run ubuntu... it starts loading then it just stops at a peach colored screen and nothing else happens... i tried it on my desktop and it worked perfectly fine.. Im completely new to ubuntu and wanted to try it out on my older laptop but just cant get it to work, thank you for your help

Download the alternative-install CD, burn the image and try installing with using that. This isn't a live CD, it will just install. It isn't nearly as user friendly, but it's best for older systems. Give it a try.

ray bauer had this problem down loaded the alternate with digetal loader this worked give it a try
