You can use a chroot from the install media and configure GRUB that way. OmgUbuntu has a guide named "Sticking it to GRUB"

I am sorry but I need specific instructions for getting this
grub installed (not just use chroot).
My Ubuntu install is located on C: drive, partition5,
/dev/sdb5 ext 4.
The "sticking it to grub" guide was a video I could not
follow. If you can help please let me know...?
thank you.
