Evolution OpenSource?

Asked by Wolf Canis

Hello,
yet I figured out, that Evolution is licensed by Novell.

http://www.gnome.org/projects/evolution/doc/evolution26.pdf

You can read it under the headline license and under evolution-help-about.

I'm confused about this fact or make I an error in my logic?

Thanks in advance,
                                   Mr Canis

"This phrase is sometimes still used even on some documents to which the original author does not retain all rights granted by copyright law, such as works released under a copyleft license. It is, however, only a habitual formality and is unlikely to have legal consequences." -- Wikipedia.

Yes, it is Open Source all the way. The fact that you see such copyright statements just means the authors wanted to get some kudos and did not find a better way to express their intent. The licensing terms elsewhere will hold water just fine.

Thanks for the quick answer.

Only one question: How is the name from the article which you quotes?
I mean the name in Wikipedia.

Thanks,
