Computer Time and Date Cannot Sync

My time and Date on my computer cannot synchronize with all available time servers it says todays date and time but the year is 2005, hence everytime i'm trying to go on the net i got Certificate error message that i cannot use the certificate...any help will be much appriciated

Just out of curiosity are you running gusty or hardy? If you set it manually by right clicking on your time and date and going to "Adjust date and time" does the new time and date stay correct?

Thanks i have changed it and it works on Ubuntu n XP now thanks m running Hardy
