Cannot see Ubuntu after reboot

After installing Ubuntu 14.04.02 LTS alongside windows 8.1 Boot Manager, it does not appear on the Start Menu. The notebook just boots into Windows only. Kindly advise how to log into the Ubuntu installation, please.

It won't appear in the start menu. You will use Grub to select the OS at boot time.

Eveng grub does not appear at boot time. The machine goes directly to Windows 8.1.
