Ubuntu One Popup

Asked by Angela C. Murphy

I am tired of seeing the "Ubuntu One File Services will be shutting down on June 1, 2014" popup every time I log in, but I do not know how to shut it down. I am using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, and don't want to upgrade to 14.04 until I get this problem (and some others) solved. I also get an error message from unity panel service, and sometimes also from compiz.
Thanks for any help.

When I log in to Ubuntu. My Ubuntu setup has 3 log ins, mine my husband's and the root log in. Logging in to any one of these causes the popup to appear, at least at the first log in of the day. I find it somewhat annoying that the popup is still appearing almost 6 months after the Ubuntu One File Service shut down, but I don't know how to go about getting rid of said popup.

I followed the procedure Michael told me about in his email. I first removed Ubuntu One, using the Software Center. I then checked as suggested, and found the same unremoved packages as the previous poster. I used Synaptic to remove those packages, and voila! no more popup. Thank you all for the help.
