multi os boot

Asked by Shane Bolt

I am trying to install fedora, knoppix, lubuntu, and xubuntu on an older machine because ubuntu 14 causes serious lag. If I install fedora first knoppix does not recognize it and overwrites it and lubuntu did the same to knoppix, xubuntu recognized lubuntu but boots directly into xubuntu. I tried following the multiboot instructions link someone posted during an irc session but am lost on how to make GRUB go to both a separate partition only for chainloader and root partition. I also tried to make directory and all that fun stuff and kept getting errors

lubuntu and xubuntu are the same OS underneath, they just use a different session by default. If you install lxde on Xubuntu, you can select the desktop at login and save space as well as bandwidth updating 2 identical OSes.

a separate /boot partition isn't necessary, the last OS you install will manage the booting of the other systems.

Can you help with this problem?
