HELP ! I HAVE LOST EVERYTHING AFTER RECENT UPDATES

I tried to Customize but I cannot understand the new Cutomize bar. I have lost all my tools like Back and Forward, Refresh, Home, and cannot find the Address Bar and the Navigation bar. I have gone to Mozilla Firefox and added everything they recommend but nothing changes.

Help ! I will never update Firefox again.

If you rename the firefox config folder then run the browser you will get vanilla settings.

I dont know where the folder is. Actually I managed to get the address bar back but the icons Ineed are not there. No refresh or back button especially. Where are they?

Run:

nautils ~/.mozila

Rename the firefox folder.

Is the browser better for you after the rename or is it the same?

You can copy the bookmarks from the old profile or use whatever Firefox uses as web sync to duplicate the bookmarks

If you have followed actionparsnip's advice, the you have renamed your firefox settings folder.
If you undo that (first rename the new firefox settings folder thaht most probably is now there to something else, and then rename the previous folder back to firefox), then this should undo the change, and you should have your bookmarks back (but might have the strange behaviour of firefox that was your original problem back).
Note: You should have firefox closed when you do the renaming action!

I did restart browser each time I made a change. I went into Mozilla support and followed their instruction to delete some file. I have my bookmarks back and the navigation bar but the new Customize function is very peculiar. I dont have the icons in the right size and the right location. When I did add-ons to resume the tabs on bottom and squared to resemble previous interface, thats when bookmarks disappeared so I wont tamper with it anymore. From now on, no more updates.
