how to disable third party or local libraries

Asked by John Wilson

Thunderbird mail crashes and I get the following error message:
The crashed program seems to use third-party or local libraries:

/home/john/.thunderbird/fb2tjd0f.default/extensions/{e2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103}/components/Linux_x86-gcc3/libcalbasecomps.so

It is highly recommended to check if the problem persists without those first.

Do you want to continue the report process anyway?

How do I disable the file?
John

Run thunderbird in safe mode and sequentially disable addons til you can start it the normal way.

Does the file in the error actually exist?

If you go into the folder it may give clues what extension it is.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask John Wilson for more information if necessary.
