Hi,

Can you send on this thread the lines which contains the error (maybe at the end). Or if you don't find it all the file. Just to find the bug of envy if it's the problem.

Anther way to setup your video card for ubuntu 7.10 is to do it manually :

NT, TNT2, GeForce1, certaines GeForce2 LEGACY -> nvidia-glx-legacy
certaines GeForce2, GeForce 3/4 Special legacy -> nvidia-glx
GeForce FX/5/6/7/8 Unify -> nvidia-glx-new

(source: http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/nvidia)

For a GeForce 7 you can use this command in a terminal :
sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx-new

Best regards

hi morel
i got this massage from Helton,

(I did a search about your graphics board and the driver support for it. This board is only supported by the open source driver developed by the X.org project. The 3D part is made by the DRI project and the stage of the Rage 128 driver isn't enough for the 3D desktop effects. Sorry but you can't get these effects with your actual hardware.)

maybe that's why even after doing as you instructed above the result didn't change.
thank you for your help
