internal microphone doesn't work in aspire 5253 with ubuntu 13.10

Asked by Andres Diaz

I upgrade my acer aspire 5253 to ubuntu 13.10 and the internal microphone is not working, I cannot make video callings in skype or Hangout (google talk) because other people won't hear me, and when somebody connects or disconnects instead of the alert notification I get an endless horrible sound until I logged out, it seems like there is a problem with the driver... those programs worked well on ubuntu 13.04. My laptop has an AMD dual-core c50 and 6 GB memory. thanks for your help.

If you run:

alsamixer

Are all levels maxed and unmuted?

Giving links from your own PC like that will only work for users sat at your PC. It doesnt work on the web. You need to use a service like imageshack to make a URL of the file

Glad you got the gold.
