Try to reset your BIOS to the factory defaults! It might help.

Thanx Tom:

I plan do just what you suggest, along with "flashing" the BIOS. I sure hope these 2 steps will eradicate the problem. And, if I may ask, should those steps work, could you surmise what started the 'problem" in the first place?

Afternoon:

I need to "update" this post. It seems the problem has been the MBR. The last error report is BOOTMGR is missing. OK, so I'm reasoning(?) I must repair/rebuild the MBR. Does that sound correct? OK, I DO NOT have a recovery disc. All the sites that I've been to all say "OPEN WINDOWS" and I'm done at that. I DO NOT have any MSWINDOWS disc recovery program, I haven't run a MSWINDOWS O.S for quite some time now. In other words "I DON'T DO WINDOWS!!!!" Now, how do I repair/rebuild my laptop's MBR without any CD or pendrive recovery application. I cannot access either pendrive or CD at this time. That's what started this whole fiasco. I, now, have a wiped/formatted internal HDD (no O.S.) My laptop is a HP 2000. I need to get a "fix". If you've experienced a MBR failure and accomplished the fix/repair, I'd love to hear how you did it. Remember, I CANNOT access my CD or pendrive at this time.(I'm assuming that is because of the failed MBR?)
THANX:

THANK YOU to those who replied/helped!!!

Just curious. Is there a way to delete my own "questions/answers" from this forum?
