Is there any tool to convert jpeg to doc or word

Hi all,
i need to convert .jpeg file to doc or word format.Is there any tool to convert.I am using ubuntu 12.04.Here .jpeg means scanned one.please tell me?

Your first problem is called "optical character recognition". You have pictures of characters and you wish to turn them into text. A secondary issue is then presenting that text in Microsoft Word (R) format.

Start by looking at the OCR tools available in ubuntu, discussed here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/OCR

Let us know if that helps. Given a text file, you can use LibreOffice to write a MS Word format document, if you need to do so. Information on LibreOffice here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LibreOffice.

Hello Andrew tats's my mistake i am sorry for that, i am intentionally telling that scanned image format any format i.e odt,pdf,word..

i know a free online ocr http://www.online-code.net/ocr.html, you can convert your jpeg to text and pdf document.
