Cannot dual-boot in windows 8

Asked by Maarten Swinnen

I have installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my system.
After the installation it asks me to reboot, but it never asks to boot in Ubuntu; it just goes straight to win8.
In the BIOS CSM-boot is enabled and secure boot is disabled.
I cannot find an option to disable UEFI.
Is there something I am missing here?
I'm not a tech-wiz, so please go easy on me.

@actionparsnip
I'm sorry, but none of that makes any sense to me... I was told (by friends and the linux site) that this was an easy install. The link you gave me isnt easy at all... might as well be in chinese to me, since i know very little about pc's...

@Warren Hill
That one i tried before posting. Except the part about disabling the UEFI (because i dont have that option in BIOS).

Try restart the systemvand boot in the cd ,or usb that you used to install ubuntu and then use the instauctions to repair or update grub bootloader.if nothing happens install another ubuntu with wubi inside windows 8 and you will have 2 ubuntus now.you wioll see the second.i have done it a thousand times.the next step will be to give the default operation system in windows 8,as windows.!! i hope i helped

The problem seemed to be my Ubuntu version... I was a using 32-bit version which doesnt support UEFI.
Thanks Anna; bootloader made me aware of that (stupid) mistake. :)

maarten,i am glad. needs a lot of reading always. Please be extremely carefull about any ubuntu updater and update .the most secure way in any problem is synaptic from inside ubuntu { fix broken,reload,upgrade} and upgrade from the recovery mode,outside ubuntu ,but always as root.outside needs more attention.watchout the terminal.with regards
