Download Chrome, not Chromium. It has it's own flashplayer. I use Minitube from Ubuntu Software Center for Youtube (no advertisements). You must download Adobe Flashplayer 11.2 to work in Linux.

Hello,

You cannot replace adobe flash player. Simple as that. Other project not working well.

I would suggest either to remove completely any other flash related project (gnash, lightspark..etc) and install flash player through "ubuntu-restricted-extras" package

From terminal (CTRL+ALT+T)

    sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

OR

install Google Chrome browser (as @michael suggested) , because it has the latest version of flash player (11.8) integrated. Linux flash player from adobe is in version 11.2 and will stay for ever there (Adobe has dropped support of flash player for Linux)

You do not have to use Chrome if you don't want to (and I avoid Chrome/chromium like the plague because Google likes to track users).

They still release security updates for Flash 11.2.x, so as long as the sites you use don't bump their version requirement, it's a non-issue. You probably misunderstood the warning (which isn't hard to do since Adobe's goal is to twist Linux users' arms and make them use Chrome).
