Wireless Disappeared

Asked by Iqbal

Hi,
I have a hp probook 4431s running ubuntu 12.04.
The wifi was running fine.
But after shutting down, when I booted the laptop, before starting ubuntu it flashes the message that wireless module disabled. Wireless module id 702.
After booting the wireless icon has disappeared. I executed rfkill unblock all. Even the light of wifi button still glows white. If I physically press the button even then it does not turn amber.

Hi,

There is a switch for wifi. Earlier it was glowing white despite the problem. I tried to press it, but it was still glowing white.

After posting the problem, when next morning I switched on the laptop, the wifi was there and it was connecting. It was showing all icons relating to wifi and other available wifi networks.

Then again, after shutting down, I cold booted it, the problem again came up. This time the wifi light was amber.

The message is displayed by hp, before starting ubuntu.

The messege:

WLAN MODULE IS DISABLED.
Wlan module id is 702.
