K3B burning like a dinosaur since upgrade to 7.10

Asked by Legomanfred

I've still been unable to resolve my "burning issues" with K3B since upgrading to Gutsy. I've tried using Gnome baker with the same results, poor burn speeds like 1.2 or 1.5 for a DVD. My burner and discs both support 16 times burn speeds but they don't seem to be being utilised. Anyone with some insight into this issue or some answers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Legomanfred

I am and have been using K3B for years. But recently when I upgraded from 7.04 Edgy Eft to 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon it is burning veeerrryyy Sssslllloooowwwwwllllyyy. I have support for 16x burning and used to get it quite nicely out of the older version of K3b. Maybe I should downgrade to the previous version. Any thoughts???
Thanks

I have downgraded to the earlier version of K3B and now everything is as it was...fine. I don't know why this upgrade to the newer version created problems, but it did so returning to the earlier version was a good alternative.

Don't know what basero is. K3B is working fine now though, since I downgraded it to the previous version. What is Brasero?

Googled it, it's another burning platform, stripped down version ie. basic and simple. I'll try it and see how it does. Thanks
