I was having Kubuntu 12.10 and i upgraded it online to 13.04. Is there any diiference between downloading the version from webiste and upgrading it?

Hello,

I was having Kubuntu 12.10 installed on my desktop. I then upgraded it to online 13.04. Is there any differnce between downloading the Kubuntu13.04 from website and then installing it and upgrading it from 12.10 to 13.04?

After upgradation, I have also found that downloading and installing the softwares from Software Centers is taking kot of time and at times Operating System becomes unresponsive.

Also some of the programs are not starting up. Programs like : K3B, Kmix, Dragon Player, etc...

I never had such issues with Kubuntu 12.10.

Please do advise.

The clean install has none of the old files from the previous install.

Upgrading can give issues especially if old configs cause issues in newer releases.

Can you help with this problem?
