Switching from kde to gnome

So, I don't like KDE in the end, and I do NOT want to do a complete reinstall of Ubuntu. It's rather tedious because of installer problems. So, is there a good way to get KDE out of my current installation and use Gnome instead?

This installs the complete gnome desktop, like it would have been installed if yoi installe Ubuntu from CD and removes every KDE program afterwards

$ sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
$ sudo apt-get remove --purge kdelibs4c2a

Installation of Gnome:
Install metapackage ubuntu-desktop (gnome with many aplications and tools) or gnome-core (only gnome with core aplications).
Now restart Xserver (Ctr+Alt+Backspace) and in login manager set Session → Gnome.

Removing of KDE:
Remove package kubuntu-desktop and then in Terminal run command "sudo apt-get autoremove".

To install GNOME do:

sudo aptitude install ubuntu-desktop
