Home Directories On Desktop

Asked by dr_hamza

Hi ,
after a lot of customization , i restored the gnome setting to it's default , but his time alittle bit different , my home Directories stick at desktop and wont go .
I have 2 tools ( packages ), which can configure this behavior :

1-gTweakUI-Nautilus
2-Ubuntu Tweak .

but this option is unchecked in both tools ,

the question is : How i can disable my home directories from begin at my desktop ?!

Thanks

Run "gconf-editor" (from the terminal or by pressing Alt-F2). Then, from the left pane, browse into "apps" -> "Nautilus" and select "Desktop". On the right pane, uncheck the "home_icon_visible" entry.

Is it what you where looking for?

nope ,

I mean My Home Directories ( The Contents ) , plus i ran " gconf-editor " soon as i got the problem , but i know it wont solve anything cause its the same as the tweaks i use .

i have an account a zero-default-modified one , what's folders i should copy to this troubled home directory , and BTW : I was moving the home location to another partition , but when i restored it i believe i deleted "desktop" folder from this one .

so is there a particular folder i should copy to this account as ".nautilus " ?

Oh, I misunderstood your situation at first.

The directory used as your folder is specified in this file: /home/{your userid}/.config/user-dirs.dirs

Mine as a line that looks like this:

    XDG_DESKTOP_DIR="$HOME/Desktop"

Make sure the entry points to a valid directory. GNOME should use the directory specified the next time you login.
