how do I set windows up as a secondary os

I'm running a dell inspiron 1000 the hard drive crashed
and I got a new one bigger and better and I couldn't get
the boot disk to work so I got a text based version of
linux and now I want to put windows xp in as a second
OS and I don't know were to start.
