arrow keys not working with GRUB

Asked by John Wilson

For Christmas I was given a Logitech diNovo cordless keyboard.
I have gone and selected it by System>Preferences>Keyboard>Layouts and it works perfectly except when I try and boot up. At the GRUB screen the arrow keys don't work.
Any ideas for a workaround or do I have a legacy keyboard handy?

You might also check your BIOS and see if you can enable USB support during boot. That is the reason your keyboard doesn't work - no BIOS level support for a USB keyboard.

Thank you Jim.
Once again your diagnosis was spot on and the treatment effective.
Oh if only life was like that.

John
