Please tell if you have already done some common bios setting to force your pc to boot from cd...

Please check and change your bios setting you must set your pc to boot from cd...
Check Bios "boot options" and put your cd device as first device...

Thank you

yes i have set bios to boot from cd prior to hard disk

that is how i was able to boot from Ubuntu cd and install the system from it

all tough i have made -boot from add-on card as first choice
and -boot from cd as the 2nd choice

in my opinion this should not make difference as our goal is to boot from cd prior
to the hard drive

if any additional info is required then do let me know

thanks for your reply

I have a prgram that I got from tech republic it reuires you to go the microsoft web sit and download sp1 for server 2003 and some files from the XP CD. As for making your computer dual boot there is a program at teh VCOM website to load more than one operating system I hope this will help.

Ok if you can boot from Ubuntu live cd obviously your hardware and setup options are ok.
Yes i think there may be something related to the cd...

Is the original Windows CD or is some restore CD with Windows on it coming from Compaq...?
