U 12.04: Deadly Slow Rythmobox

Asked by shero1

I've since installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my PC. Not to mention that it has made the PC slow to death, some problem have arisen with Rythmobox.

First, It is, as well as the whole PC, very slow. It forced the PC several times to freeze, despite it got frozen only five times in my whole history with Linux OS.

Second, on my way to solve the problem of the deadly-slowliness of the PC, I found that Rythmobox consumed some cache, which if freed, could leave some space on my PC and could make it once more fast like in the good days of Ubuntu 10.04.. How could it be freed without harming the PC?

Hi there,

please provide more info about your computer, that we could know where to start searching for problem. Ubuntu 12.04 requires little system resources and I didn't hear that it can't run any maschine. It would be helpfull if you could provide us more information about your computer. Also I suggest you to check if you have proper drivers installed on your computer. You can search it on your "System settings" menu and then go to "Additional drivers". If this application found any new software install it and it might help you solve some problems.

If this helps you solve your question, please mark thread as solved.

Regards,
Miha

Did you test the RAM using memtest86+ in Grub?

Can you help with this problem?
