Hello Wiliam,

Try to install Wine ('sudo apt-get wine' in a terminal or via synaptic or add/remove programs) and then right click on the executable (*.exe file) you want to open, go on "open with..." and click on "wine". It doesn't work for all the programs, but work for some of them (go to http://appdb.winehq.org/ for a list of known working/non working applications and to http://winehq.org/ for more general infos about wine). If you have questions about wine use in Ubuntu, don't hesitate to ask your question here.

Hope that it helps you.
