Yesterday I have downloaded Ubuntu 04.12 and it turned out there is no Russian language in that version. What should I do?

Yesterday I have downloaded Ubuntu 04.12 and it turned out there is no Russian language in that version. What should I do?
Also, this version appears to be slower than the previous. What's the use of upgrading for a lower-quality product? :(
I'm despondent.

Hi, Anna! Ubuntu 12.04 does have support for the Russian language, you just need to install it. You can do that by doing the following steps:

1- Open System Settings;
2- Select Language Support;
3- Click on Install/remove languages;
4- Check Russian, click apply, and type your password;
5- Click on Apply to the system.

Ubuntu 12.04 default desktop is really fast on more modern hardware, but indeed it can be slow in older computers. If you feel your system is too slow, you may try to run Unity-2D. To do this, before you tyope your password to login on the system you have to click on the small Ubuntu icon to the right of your name and select Unity-2D.
