parted?

How do I open the program Parted?
I'd like to manage my partitions from ubuntu and not have to use the MS alternatives that I already know of.

parted is a command line program. Therefore you need to first open a terminal. How to work with a terminal is described here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UsingTheTerminal

In the terminal you type in parted with the device of the drive you want to access as argument.

However, there are also at least two graphical frontends for the program parted. Gparted (usually used with Gnome) and Qtparted (usually used with KDE). They both work very similar. Here are some instructions for Gparted: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowtoPartition
