Install stuff onto the live cd

Hi Im new to ubuntu and im running it off a live cd. Im just want to know if you can install things like applications ono the cd aswell, as i dont really want to install ubuntu on my harddrive.

yes you can. But downloaded packages will be stored in your ram and your computer will slow down. And when you reboot your machine all stuff you have installed will be gone.
