open a terminal and type this command:

I am using Ubuntu 6.06.01 (Drapper Drake) on this laptop because it is the newest version of Ubuntu that will run on a PowerPC processor. I wanted to be able to use www.spellingcity.com. Using Firefox I went to http://www.spellingcity.com but the site would not work properly. Firefox complained that I needed an unknown plugin. So I thougt I would update FireFox. I used the instructions I found at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FirefoxNewVersion and followed them exactly, up to the point where it says to 'try it'. I tried to run 'firefox' from a terminal it it says "cannot execute binary file". I had downloaded the english version of FireFox for linux. But nothing specifically stated it was fore a PowerPC processor. I am guessing there may not be a current version of FireFox for the PowerPC. Now Firefox does not work at all and I think it maybe the only web browser on this Ubuntu installation. When I try to start FireFox from an icon a button appears on the taskbar for a short while then it goes away.

I followed the preceeding message to install FireFox and the system responded that I have the latest version!
So I ran the command changing 'install' to 'remove'. Then tried to repeat the install and it still does not work.

Also, from the installation instructions "https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FirefoxNewVersion" after doing the uninstall the links and files for firefox are still present and I still get the message "cannot execute binary file"
