Using spesific Partition - for installing GG

Asked by Piet Beukes

Hi,
I have another distro on a desktop but I wish to switch to GG Kubuntu - however, I would prefer not to lose the existing data -

How do I swap / install the GG installation with the previous other distro so that the partition (20 G) for the other distro will now be used for GG?

Will the GG DVD guide me through the process or do I need to do something specific to make sure the other partition (100 G) of data is not used?
I know this may sound smallfry to any experienced user, but I am not experienced with linux

I can't tell for sure for Kubuntu, but Ubuntu uses an installer package and allows you to specify the installation partition. Other partitions are only formated if you ask for it.
