Black & White videos

Till date my videos used to play in color but now its playing in black and white with all player including VLC. I switched off the visual effects but its not helping either. I have installed mac4lin and awn but it was working with it fine but later today its turned black and white. Also the video thumbnails are in color.

there is a solution for this problem here, at the bottom:

and the particular line is:
> "rm -r ~/.gconf/apps/totem" and then logout and login again.
