Is there a system-wide sound equalizer in Ubuntu?
I'm wondering if there's a system-wide sound equalizer in Ubuntu.
The ones available, e.g. in Amarok, are restricted to the application's sound output only. Having a system-wide wound equalizer would facilitate enormously for instance if I changed my sound profile from laptop to headphone or to my home sound system, or if I just wanted to boost the frequencies around 300hz and dampen those around 15khz. Alsa's ladspa plugin framework provides raw programming support for an equalizer, but I can't find any Ubuntu-provided equalizer plugin for it, let alone a simple-to-use GUI. Is there one?
If not, may I suggest you to provide one? Which project in Ubuntu would be responsible for this implementation? A system-wide equalizer seems to be a recurrent request, see e.g. http://
