Installing with Windows Vista, how?

Asked by lilrayray69

I was thinking about trying out this beta, but I'm pretty new with Linux...I'm just wondering really if I can install this on my laptop which has Windows Vista Home Premium, and will it work as a dual-boot? Would both work at the same time, on the same drive?
Also, approximately how much space does it take up?

Yes, Ubuntu should work well on your laptop.

If you're thinking dual booting just follow the steps on this wiki:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WindowsDualBoot

However, bu definition, dual booting means that you can have both Ubuntu and Windows running at the same time. To use Ubuntu, you will have to shut-down and boot into Ubuntu. To switch to Windows, you will have to shut-down and boot into Windows.

If you want to run both "at the same time," consider installing Ubuntu in a virtual machine in Windows or vice versa.

I recommend VirtualBox.

Or use Wubi.

Enjoy Ubuntu!!!

Oh I forgot.

System Requirements:

Ubuntu is available for PC, 64-Bit and Mac architectures. At least 256 MB of RAM is required to run the desktop install CD. Install requires at least 4 GB of disk space. 10 is recommended.

Can you help with this problem?
