I'm not sure about Vista, I haven't had a chance to play with it at all... however, I can say with certainty that I've heard of other people dual (or even triple) booting their computer with Ubuntu, Vista and XP. The key is to install Vista first, but to create 2 disk partitions, and install Vista on the second partition, not the first one. Then install Ubuntu, and delete the first partition (the empty one) and let the Ubuntu installer use the resulting empty space.

With regards to Beryl running on the Intel GMA, you are indeed in luck, I have a computer with an Intel 945GMA and both Beryl and Compiz Fusion run perfectly well on it. The only issue so far is that when you play back videos and spin the cube at the same time, the video doesn't render properly (doesn't get transformed with the window), but aside from that, I have to say that beryl works just fine.

How to install Beryl depends on which version of Linux you're using. I suggest installing Compiz Fusion, actually, because it has more features and it's the next-gen release of Beryl basically. The instructions are on the Ubuntu wiki: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/CompositeManager/CompizFusion (this is for Ubuntu 7.04). If you're running the Ubuntu beta, you don't need to add the repositories, but the rest of the instructions are pretty much the same.

Have fun!

DONT FORGET... defrag your windows partion before Ubuntu load, windows gets freaked out after a few reboots and use... Dont know if this is true on Vista but from experience with XP I can tell you Defrag before the install of linux will save you headaches later :)
