Adobe Flash & Java auto install for FireFox

When I've used FireFox on other operating systems, such as Suse, Firefox has been able to automatically install things like Flash & Java, but, for me at least, it doesn't with Ubuntu. Why is this? Is there any way to install flash & Java? I want to use YouTube! LOL!
