How do I map a network drive in 10.10?

Asked by Matt Darlington

The question is pretty straight forward. I have a network share on my home wireless network that I would like to map a drive to. I am only connecting over the wireless network, no hard connection.

Thanks!

In the file manager, you can select file->connect to server -> windows share

enter the server's hostname or IP, and the username and password for the share.

ok.....where is file manager? I am pretty new at Ubuntu and while I've looked under apps and everywhere else I can think to look I do not see this.

ok, so I found and installed an app called File Manager. I do not see the options there to connect to a server. I am guessing this is not the file manager you were speaking of. Anyway...I'll keep looking

In the left panel in nautilus (the default file browser in Ubuntu) has a network icon, if you click that it should show systems to browse

Can you help with this problem?
