installing web cam

im trying to install my web cam but it keeps saying error

cheese

and

camorama

packages and try

Applications -> Ubuntu Software Center.

You will find a search box where write the name of these programs.

Ok I installed that but I think I need something before this. I am new to this system. I have read many forums & understood enough to go to admin - system - log - to see if when I plug my camera up if it is recognized and it is. But how to i get it to work. Surely, I still need a driver. Can you help with this?
