My lenovo Y500 laptop driver are not working can you please help I am new to the world of Linux :)

Try the boot options:

i8024.nomux=1

and/or

i8024.reset

May help

You need to run:

gksudo gedit /etc/default/grub

You add these in /etc/default/grub in the quotes below

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"

Then run:

sudo update-grub

Try different combinations of one or both.
