In terminal when it says "are you root ?" what do I add to get it to do what I told it to do ?

many times when I try doing things I get a statement that comes up asking me if I'm root ?

Hello,

to execute a command which need root privileges use the command sudo in front of the command you would execute example apt-get install need root priileges so enter sudo apt-get install.
In answering your question say no and execute the command with sudo.
