i have a new gateway laptop and the video and display drivers wont install
the laptop is gateway model no # ma7 or #t3b74n1022597

You have to collect the name of your video card, like intel or other.

check on google.com including the model of yr video card and "ubuntu" and you'll find some instruction to handle the situation.

You should have to modify the file xorg probably
