i need to write my own code for printer. viewing the printer code might help me to give some idea to write my own code. i have seen various device driver code for ubuntu (usr/src/devices) but i could not find it for printer.

Typing:
     apt-get source cups-driver-gutenprint
into your terminal should download the source for the Gutenprint driver to your home directory.

I believe that printing is handled in the userspace rather than the kernel, that may explain why you can't find the source in the expected place.
