My system is real slugish

Well, a good opening question is "should it be?" -- What have you got for your CPU and Memory?

When I first installed it, it was super fast.
Almost as fast as mine and mine is beefed
up.

That is why I ask if there was a way to wipe it clean
and reinstall all fresh system, as I said before when
I get to Prepare Partition I click erase and use all of
Disk.

And still can't play pogo. When I click to play a game
the java window pops up loads the game Icon but
does not load all the way to the game.

free -m

Also try completely uninstalling "flash player" and then try reinstalling "flashplugin-nonfree" to make sure you are using Adobe flash player 10.0.45. Oh, and make sre you have installed "Adblock plus" to make Firefox safer and faster.

However, 10.04 does seem a bit sluggish to me too.

How to install Adobe flash player?

My dads system is super fast. His is beefed up some
but when I first installed Kubuntu 10.4 it was super
fast also.

Plus my java on Pogo.com does not let me go
in to play the game. My account is free and I
can see the advertisement but it does not load
all all the way in to play the game.

On the top taskbar click on

System - Administration - Synaptic

and that should have 2 search tools to help you find "flash player" then just scroll down the list until you find the Adobe & non-free one. If you also have "gnash" & "swfdec" installed then uninstall those ones too. Only reinstall the "flashplugin-nonfree" tho. Sometimes the Adobe proprietary one (the non-free) clashes with the OpenSource ones. Usually it is worth going with the Adobe ones but i am beginning to think about changing to the OpenSource ones myself too tbh.

There are no System - Administration - (Synaptic) installed.
I went in and System and typed in Synaptic and came up
with nothing.

How do I install it?

The Kubuntu Package Manager is "Adept" not "Synaptic" sorry about that. So please use Adept to uninstall the flash players and then reinstall just the "flashplugin-nonfree"

No I'm taking my sons PC to my PC repair friend.
It peers to be a problem with it...

10.04 has been sluggish on a few different systems. I hoped we could try some of the standard work-arounds and perhaps compare it with a previous release such as 9.10 or 9.04 on the same machine, perhaps as a LiveCd (although LiveCd sessions are slower anyway)

The thing of it though, when I have it set up to install
with CD ROM first if I leave the CD out of the CD
ROM it will load into the desktop....

Just like if it was set up already installed with the
operating system first in line.

So that is why I feel the CD ROM is not reading
the CD or some thing like that.

The first time of install I installed the 64 bit, and it
was fast.

Then as I was trying to get java and all going I
reinstalled.

Then the sluggish started.

I even installed the 32 bit.

No good. I talked to my friend and he concurred
that there sounds like a problem.

So I'm going to end this problem and see what
this action does for it.

I can install and have a system up and running
now in 1 in a half hours, and with a fast system
on my PC.

So I know I'm doing thing right?

Getting someone to look at it does sound like a good plan. There is a limit to what can be understood easily in an online forum where we don't have direct access to the machine. Hopefully there might be something useful. I tend to find the 32bit versions easier to run on my 64bit machine but a lot of the advantage of linux is that there are so many choices we can make about so many things and yet all end up with good systems.
