partitioning

Asked by Fay

I was looking for a way to partition Ubuntu through preseed with a ext3 / and a swap file and i need to specify the sizes too.

The auto recipe is NOT being read at all and if i use use largest continuous free space it just use the whole space. Is there anyway i can give it a custom recipe. Any OS should be able to do that.

Using kickstart for ubuntu does help me there but it cant read other preseed options like use largest continuous free space and all even though the ubuntu doc says it can be done with

preseed --owner d-i ...

can someone please tell me how you can fit a custom partition for Ubuntu.
Thanks

Hello Fay,

You can get more control over partitioning of your hard disk during installation if you install Ubuntu from the alternate CD. The alternate CD can be downloaded from there: Check here if you need the alternate desktop CD (don't forget to select "Check here if you need the alternate desktop CD")
