jdk installation error

i need to install jdk for my study purpose from sun , and selected linux as an operating system but when the download is completed i got a stuff giving entension saying .Bin and when i double clicked on it, the error "unknow file type is displayed".
pls tell me what to do?

You dont need that file (unless you are using 64bit OS and want 64bit java)
